The Ohio Valley Pembroke Welsh Corgi Club’s regular meeting was held on May 8, 2004, at Joyce Park in Fairfield, Ohio.  The meeting was called to order by the President, Lana Jorgenson, at 11:30 A.M.

Presidents Report

 

Lana welcomed everyone to the meeting and thanked Adrienne for getting everything ready for a wonderful match.  Including a beautiful day!  She also thanked Sally Wynn of Red Oak corgis for agreeing to judge the match.

 

 

 

Recording and Corresponding Secretary Report

 

A thank you note was received from Melody for her excellent treatment by our members during her stay in Louisville as our sweepstakes judge.

 

Pati Wiedel wrote to thank the club for the beautiful trophy her dog won at the March show. 

 

A motion was made by Bob Saffell, seconded by Nancy Oehlhof, to approve the Secretary minutes from the last meeting.  Motion approved.

 

Treasurers Report

 

Bob Saffell gave the Treasurer’s Report stating that the latest income was $5,821.27 and expenses $4,206.57 and Club’s total is $10,074.22 and the Rescue has $7,036.79, with a total balance of $17,111.01 combined.

 

The 2004 Specialty had total expenses of $3,087.23 and a profit of $790.44.  Bob made a special note that the profit was largely due to a very nice silent action income. 

 

A motion was made by Cheryl Heath, seconded Pam Hudson, to approve the Treasurer’s Report.  Motion approved.

Many new and exciting activities are being planned. At the next meeting we will have a Corgi Olympics run by Kathy Shannon.

 

Awards - - Lisa McKay

Pam Hudson passed out the awards for 2003.

 

Breeder Referral - - Kathy Shannon

There have been many inquires for puppies.  If you have a litter, please let Kathy know.

 

Rescue - - TBA (Neena Van Camp with Kathy Shannon assisting until position filled)

Kathy and Jean reported that many rescue dogs are being cared for and they are in the process of determining placement for these dogs.

Bill Shelton has accepted to judge sweeps for 2006.

First reading for Connie Reinhart.

 

 

Ovation - - Nancy Oehlhof

A motion was made by JoAnn Ruehl and seconded by Judy Nolan that the front and back covers will be offered only in color at a cost of $40.00 for the front cover and $35.00 for the back cover.  Motion passed.

 

PWCCA Reps - - Nancy and Mike Oehlhof

A motion was made by Pam Hudson and seconded by Kathy Shannon that the PWCCA rep be instructed to report back to the PWCCA that we want the individual clubs to be able to make their own decisions regarding selections of merit.  Motion passed.

 

Sunshine - - Joann Ruehl

No report.

 

Trophies - - Marilyn Midkiff

No report.

 

Ways and Means - - Barbara Fisher

Barbara is working on many new ideas for Ways and Means.  She was selling the “South Beach Corgi Bracelet” at this meeting with great success.

 

Webpage - - Nancy Oehlhof

Much hard work and updating goes into this project for the club.  Many thanks to Nancy for all her hard work.

 

 

New Business:

The next meeting will be held at JoAnn’s house on July 11th.  A potluck lunch and corgi Olympics will be held at the meeting.

 

A motion was made by Bob Saffell and seconded by JoAnn Ruehl to extend an invitation to the PWCCA to hold their spring 2006 meeting at our 2006 Specialty show.  Motion passed.
