Committee Reports:  Lanalee Jorgensen

Reports made:  included in the board minutes with the following additional information:

Activities:  Sue Klar

Performance awards:  Sue will form an informal committee to look into a performance proposal to award the top member owned performance dog of the year.  After discussion it was proposed that her committee also look into an award for the top member conformation dog for the year.  The committee will also discuss what that award should be.  The top member owned performance dog could be featured on the OVation cover for the performance issue.

Membership:  Pam Hudson

Could the club look into a possible change in membership rules?  When a PWCCA member applies to join Ohio Valley, if they attend two meetings in one year, would it be possible to have them voted on at the 3rd meeting instead of then going through another year of reading applications and then voting?  I am not asking that they automatically become members, but just shortening the process and utilizing their skill sets more quickly.  Lana will get back to Pam on this.

Old Business:  Nancy Oehlhof

Nancy read a letter written by Mike Oehlof expressing his disappointment in the way the Ohio Valley bid proposal was made at the PWCCA board of directors meeting held recently in California.  Mike feels that Ohio Valley should be taking advantage of having two club members on the PWCCA Board.  Mike felt uninformed and disappointed in Ohio Valley when fellow PWCCA board members asked Mike and Cheryl how they felt about the proposal.  Mike told them that that was the first time he had seen a presentation or heard of any details of the proposal.

Going forward Mike asks that if we are going forward as a club to sponsor a National or for that matter anything, ALL club members should be aware or informed of such activities.  Mike applauded all of the work the members did to get the information together to make the proposal.

A discussion followed and it was agreed that when Tim Mathiesen gives Lana the date that he will be visiting the Drawbridge Inn, she will let Mike and Cheryl know and hopefully all will be able to meet Tim and go through the show site together.  This is the first time that Lana has put together a bid proposal for Ohio Valley and she apologized for not keeping Mike and Cheryl more informed.  The proposal was included in the May minutes but by necessity (approximately 100 pages), all information could not be included.  The consensus is that better communication will follow.

JANUARY MEETING:  January 20, 2007.

Board meeting:  10:00am

General meeting:  11:00am

The site will be announced when reservation is confirmed.

This is the big meeting of the year when voting takes place and a pot luck lunch follows.

Meeting adjorned at 2:30pm
